Died at 2.06 p.m. Wednesday at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Covington. He was 94, a resident of Amite and a native of Liberty, Miss. He was a retired cotton ginner. Body at Brown Funeral Home from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday. Religious services at the funeral home at 3.30 p.m. Friday, conducted by Elder Griffin. Burial in Amite Cemetery, Survived by his wife, Mrs. Zoe Anders, Amite: a son, Clyde Anders, Kentwood; six daughters, Mrs. Helen Busby, Shreveport, Mrs.Gloria Gardner, Hendersonville, N.C. Mrs. Miriam Steim, Tickfaw, Mrs. Lael Wilson, Riverside, Calif. Mrs. Sarah Liers, New Market, Va. and Mrs.Thelma Simson, Kearney, Neb.; three sisters, Mrs. Sis Brown and Mrs. Mrs.Lena Forman, both of Doyline, and Mrs. Roda Dunn, Arcadia; a son-in-law, Dr. Joe Gardner, Hendersonville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He was 22 and a 2005 graduate of Centreville Academy, where he lettered in football three years. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 51 in Jackson. He was an employee of Mike's Audio in Baton Rouge. Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Tuesday, Oct. 7, was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Jackson on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Charlie Landry and Michael Dash, youth minister. Burial in Jackson Cemetery in Jackson. He was a hero, a brother, a son and a friend. He captured our hearts with a loving smile, an adventurous spirit and his compassionate dreams.
