Covington - Morris L. Ankrum, a 56-year-old janitor, died in Hammond on Saturday, July 22, 2000. He was a resident and native of Covington. Survivors include his wife, Rachel Ankrum, a daughter, Cynthia Ankrum and two sons, Morris and Antoine Ankrum, all of Brooklyn, N.Y. Survivors also include his mother, Myrtle Ankrum of Covington; three sisters, Myrtle Dennis, Gladys Taylor and Katherine Fabre, all of Covington; three brothers, Clifford Bickham and James Bickham Jr., both of Monticello, N.Y., and Mitchell Ankrum, of Covington. His father, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Dr. Joe Beck was the officiating minister for the funeral Saturday at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Covington. Covington- Myrtle A. Ankrum, 93, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was a homemaker and a native of Toledo, Ohio. Survivors include her daughters, Myrtle Dennis, Gladys Taylor and Katherine Fabre, all of Covington; her sons, James and Clifford Bickham, both of Monticello, N.Y., and Charles Ankrum of Covington; 47 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren, 39 great- great-grandchildren and four great-great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence Ankrum; and her children, Norma L. Davis, Paulette Lewis, Henrietta Ankrum, Morris Ankrum Sr., Lee Roy Bickham Sr. and Finney Bickham Sr. Visitation will be Tuesday at First Missionary Baptist Church from 6 p.m. until the funeral service at 7:30. Dismissal will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Otis Brumfield will conduct the service.
