He was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Tickfaw and has served as a deacon since the church was established more than 50 years ago. After serving in World War II in the U.S. Army, Mr. Pete worked as an automobile mechanic. Later, he became employed with Hood Motors where he retired with 29 years of service. He was married for 52 years to the late Ruby Anthony and they were blessed with two sons and a daughter. Mr. Pete is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mildred Anthony; son, Raymond "Ray" Anthony and wife Jackie; daughter-in- law, Louise Anthony; four grandsons, Dale, Justin, Scott and Dwight Anthony; granddaughter, Michelle King; along with five great-grand- children. A New Orleans native, she lived in Amite from 1957 to 1975, in Grande Isle from 1974 to 1999 and in Loranger since then. Survivors include her husband, Poleat J. Anthony of Loranger; two daughters, Linda Ann King of Amite and Darnell Marie Baham of Ponchatoula; two sons, Bernard James Capdeboscq Jr. of Osyka, Miss., and Ronald David Capdeboscq of Loranger; two brothers, Jerry and Marvin Alwell, both of Harvey; a sister, Dorothy DeBlanc of Church Point; 10 grandchildren and one great-grand child. Her parents were the late Jacob and Esther Alwell. Also numerous brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Visitation will be at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, tonight from 6 until 9 and at Driftwood Baptist Church in Uneedus Monday from 9 until the funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev.
