ARCHER, CHARLES
Last rites for Charles Archer, 55, tinsmith, of Hammond, were Monday at
Thomas Funeral Home; interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond.  He died
in a New Orleans hospital midnight Friday.

ARCHER, ESSIE GRACE 
A resident of Hattiesburg, Miss., she died at 11:05 a.m. Monday, July 8,
2002, at Hattiesburg Convalescent Center. She was 87 and a native of
Kentwood. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 6 p.m. to 
9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Thursday. Religious service at
Beulah Baptist Church, Tangipahoa, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the
Rev. Mason Miley and the Rev. Harlon Toney. Interment in church cemetery.
Survived by a son, James Walter "Boe" Archer Jr., Kentwood; a daughter,
Lillie Ann Archer Purvis, Hattiesburg; a grandson, Russ Purvis,
Hattiesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband,
James Walter Archer; parents, Eugene and Lillie Grace; a grandson, John
Purvis; two brothers, George Grace and Lemun Grace; and three sisters,
Lexie Odom, Mattie Garris and Lela Brumfield.
