She was 72, a native of Cardiff, Wales, and a resident of Ponchatoula. Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Gary W. Armato, Ponchatoula; daughter, Lindsey Phillips and husband Bobby, Independence; two sons, Glenn L. Miller Jr. and wife Christy De Soto Miller, Ponchatoula, and Ivy D. Armato Sr. went to his Lord Jesus the 27th of July, 2003. He was surrounded by his family. Mike had five children, Michael J. Armato Jr., Lena Angello, Gary Armato, Judy Lato and Cherri Tyler. He had seven grandchildren, three of whom he raised, and four great-grandchildren. Mike was a veteran of World War II, serving in Africa and Sicily. He worked for Barney Carey for 30 years, first as a driver, then in a supervisory position. Mike was a loving, generous person. The family would like to give special thanks to Vince Fontana and his wife, Mary, for the friendship and exemplary care they gave to Mike these last five years. They were very special to Mike. Mike received treatments in his home from North Oaks Hospice. The family would like to express gratitude and appreciation for their loving and caring ways towards Mike. Thank you, nurse Joyce; nurse Terry; nursing assistants Carla, Toni, Bertile and Elaine; Hospice chaplain Sister June and her volunteers; the Rev. Jack Nutter from St. Helena Catholic Church in Amite; the Rev. Paul McDuffie from Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence; and Deacon Mike Agnello of St. Helena Catholic Church.
