She was born on Thursday, March 2, 1922, in Poplarville, Mississippi, daughter of the late John Davis and Minnie D. Davis. She was a Homemaker. Surviving are 2 daughters, Linda Jenkins and Mary Wood; son, Johnny Armstrong; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Armstrong; son, John Armstrong and twelve brothers and sisters. Friends will be received Monday, January 21, 2008, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Leon Dunn officiating. Ben Kay Armstrong Jr., 85, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was a native of Savannah, Ga. He served in the World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was wing commander for the Pacific First Recon in World War II. He is survived by three stepsons, Edward P. Dameron of McComb, Miss.; Stanley M. Dameron of Hammond, and Charles E.C. Dameron of San Francisco; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was born on Thursday, October 18, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, son of Fred Armstrong Sr. and the late Mary Armstrong. A U.S. Army veteran of seven years he proudly served in the Vietnam war. Jim received a Bachelors degree from the University of Eastern Kansas and later earned his MBA from the University of Louisville. He attended Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond. Surviving are his wife and their faithful companion, Lynn Armstrong & Mindy; father & step-mother, Fred & Roberta Armstrong; brother & sister- in-law, Fred & Kay Armstrong Jr.; sister & brother-in-law, Joyce & Jeff Thompson; daughter, Kelly Armstrong; son, Jeff Armstrong; step daughter and husband, Rebecca & Robert Harper; step son & wife, Jimmy & Jacqueline Schroeder; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
