He was 75, a native of Clinton and a resident of Greensburg. Visitation at Red Bluff Baptist Church, Greensburg, from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, until religious service at 2 p.m., with a Masonic service at 11 a.m. Service will be conducted by the Rev. Kerry Ash and assisted by the Rev. Ace McVay. Interment in Red Bluff Cemetery, Greensburg. Survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Joyce Frazier Ash; sons, James Brooksie Ash Sr. and wife Carol, Houma, and Alex Joffre Ash and wife Mauda, Watson; daughter, Tonya Ash Smith and husband Gene, Greensburg; mother, Pearline A. Monk, Clinton; seven grandchildren, Dr. J. Brooksie Ash Jr., Austin, Texas, Trevor J. Ash, McComb, Miss., Alex and Gavin McQueen, both of Zachary, and Gisselle, Ivana and Joffre Ash, all of Watson; nephew, Gavin Juan Cuccia, Baton Rouge; a great-granddaughter, Carson Wilcox, Zachary, and Carson's mother, Jennifer Wilcox; two brothers, Robert Ash and his wife, Ruth, Denham Springs, and Mike Ash, Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Francis Durham, Clinton; and three aunts, Allie Dillon, Kentwood, and Vi Anderson and Ruby Ricks, both of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by his father, C.J. Ash; and grandson, J. Ruston "Pic" McQueen. Pallbearers will be Alex Ash, Dale Tynes, Daniel Goldsby, Trevor Ash, Kurt Ash and John Durham. Honorary pallbearers are Victor Bird, Roy Harrison and Horace "Buster" Lee. Jimmy was a past Master of St. Albans Lodge 28, F&AM, Jackson, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the York Rite Knight Templer. He was a Shriner and member of the Ka-Jon Grotto. He was a member of The International Lodges, named St. Albans, which meets annually. In 1981, as Master of Jackson Lodge 28, he hosted the international gathering in Jackson. Jimmy retired with 26 years of service from Transcontinental Gas Pipeline as a superintendent and was a board member for District 2 of St. Helena Water Works for 16 years. He was Justice of the Peace in District 1 in St. Helena Parish for 26 years and a councilman for the town of Jackson from 1953-56. In 1960, he was president of the Heart Drive in Houma, where the most money was ever raised. He was also a member of Red Bluff Baptist Church.
