ATKINSON, LESTER RUFUS 
Amite - Lester Rufus Atkinson, 86, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Amite
Nursing Home in Amite. A native of Philadelphia, Miss., and resident of
Amite, he was a carpenter and the father of Jim Atkinson of Houma, David
Atkinson of Roseland and Carolyn Mallette of Poplarville, Miss. Survivors
also include seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation
will be from noon until the funeral at 2 p.m. today at McKneely Funeral
Home in Amite. The Rev. David Cutrer will conduct the service.
