He was a native of French Settlement. Survivors include his wife, Jeane Teller Aydell; two stepdaughters, Brenda McClellan, Sacramento, Calif., Nan Teller McLemare, Pensacola, Fla.; stepsons, Dr. Henry E. Teller Jr., Hattiesburg, Miss.; sister, Beatrice Vicknair, Ponchatoula; two brothers, Eddie and John P. Aydell Sr., Baton Rouge. A sister, Ada Guitreaux, preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 10. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Box 365, French Settlement 70733. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 9/12/2000 AYDELL, JOHNNY DWIGHT Maurepas - Johnny Dwight Aydell, 68, died Sunday, Sept. 10., 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center. He was a native of French Settlement, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sandy Bayou Hunting Club and Gumm Swamp Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Margaret W. Aydell; four sisters, Anna Lambert, Mildred Matherne, Doris Parker and Lula Brown; brother, Henry Aydell, all of French Settlement. His parents, Amulice and Maria Murphy Aydell; three sisters, Elda Matherne, Eunice Deslatte and Beulah LeBeau; and a brother, Ray Aydell, preceded him in death. The Rev. James Kinkead conducted the funeral this morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church, French Settlement, and burial was in the church cemetery. Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, was in charge. She was 84 and a resident and native of Maurepas. Survived by her daughter, Louise Johnson; two sons, Thomas A. Aydell, and V.J. Aydell and loving companion Christine Valentine; seven grandchildren, Landon Aydell, Tiffany Aydell, Blaine Aydell, Missy Baker, Duane Aydell, Becky Portier and Troy Peret; 11 great-grandchildren, Chelsy, Melody, Macy, Justin, Kayla, Alex, Brady, Troy, Brittany, Courtney and Brittany Baker; great-great-grandhild, Michael Barnes; brother, Nolan Vicknair and sister, Mary "Teen" Guitreau. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph V. Aydell; parents, Louise and Peter Vicknair; four brothers, L.V., Peter Jr., Valmond and Wilbert Vicknair; sister, Betty Simoneaux; grandchild, Leon "Duke" Perret; and great-great-grandchild, Matthew Barnes. Arrangements were held Friday, March 25, at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales. Mass was held Saturday, March 26, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Whitehall, conducted by the Rev. Gerald Lefebvre, followed by the burial at the Whitehall Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were Landon Aydell, Duane Aydell, Justin Aydell, David Guitreau, Jeffrey Guitreau and Ray Guitreau Jr. The family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone involved in the services and for their condolences.
