He was 80 years young. Survived by his beloved wife, Adrienne Rodriguez Ayres. Devoted father of Denise Bacon (Dave), Gwen Accardo (Chris), Eileen Diaz (Arthur), and Yvette Dellucky (Jerry). He adored his grandchildren, Jonathan and Lauren Bacon, Stephanie and Brett Accardo, Amy, Alex, and Dana Diaz, and Brandon (Katie) and Ryan Dellucky, who affectionately call him "Jake". He is also survived by his sister, Doris A. Methe, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Gladys Doyle Ayres and his much missed brother, John "Jackie" Ayres. Bill retired from The Times-Picayune after 35 years of service. After his retirement he worked many odd jobs including 6 years at St. Joseph Catholic School in Ponchatoula. He will be remembered for his love of music; however, his greatest love was time spent with his extended family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 255 N. 8th St., Ponchatoula, LA 70454 on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G.
