Charles L. Babb, formerly of Hammond, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at his home in Fillmore, Utah. He was 78 and retired from Groendyke Transport Inc. During World War II, Charles served in the U.S. Navy Seabees, stationed on the island of Okinawa. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles M. and Karen Babb of Fillmore; five grandsons, Chip Cotton of Meza, Ariz., Chad Babb of Hammond, Nathan Cotton of Redbluff, Calif., Cody Babb of Hammond, and Lee Babb of Fillmore; granddaughter, Jenna Babb of Flagstaff, Ariz., and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jacobsen Babb; and daughter, Toni Babb Cotton. Friends will be received on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Buddy Day.
