Mrs. Bachman was born in Hammond, Louisiana, on December 4, 1915, attended Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated with her M.A. degrees from Louisiana State University . She taught English at Hammond High School. After her marriage to Dr. Bachman she came to Northern Virginia where she spent many years, most recently in Reston, Virginia. Mrs. Bachman taught at Annandale Elementary School before leaving to accompany her husband to his post with the Marshall Plan in Paris, France. Upon her return she became a charter member of the Community Woman's Club of Annadale, Virginia and twice served as its president. In 1967 she moved to Rome, Italy where her husband served as Director of Economics and Statistics of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. There she was active in the American Woman's Club of Rome, Santa Susanna Guild, in which she served as its president. When she returned in 1975 to make her home in Reston, Virginia, she became active in he Cameron Parish Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as a docent at the DAR museum in Washington, D.C. area and in Cocoa Beach, Florida where she had a winter home. She is survived by her son Kzenneth L. Bachman, Jr. and his wife Sherry A. Bachman of Bethseda, Maryland, two grandchildre Laura B. Moulton and Eric K. Bachman, their spouses Stuart Moulton and Meagan Bachman, and three great grandchildren Anna Moulton, Hannah Bachman and Hope Bachman, all of Bethseda and Chevy Chase Maryland, as well as her sister Shirley T.
