She was born on Saturday, July 15, 1916, in Tickfaw, La., daughter of the late Phillip Giaratano and the late Patrina Radosta Giaratano. Surviving are son & daughter-in-law, Peter J. and Pauline Caldorera Baiamonte of Tickfaw, son John V. Baiamonte Jr. of Tickfaw, granddaughter and husband, Maria Baiamonte Purcell and Andrew Purcell of The Woodlands, TX. She is preceded in death by husband, John V. Baiamonte, sisters, Virginia Giaratano Guiffreda, Sarah Giaratano DiBenedetto, Annie Giaratano Danna, and Mary Giaratano Catalanotte, brothers, Roy, Philip, Frank, and Pete Giaratano. He worked as a financial secretary and business agent for Carpenters Union Local 1312 and also worked for the Department of Labor Wage Claims Division. Baiamonte of Tickfaw; granddaughter, Maria Baiamonte of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister, Sarah Baiamonte Muscarello of Tickfaw; brother, Joseph Baiamonte of Tickfaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vincent was a cherished son, loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was born on Nov. 13, 1937, and graduated in 1957 from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, where he was the most valuable player on the 1957 state champion football team. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force before beginning his career as an engineer. Vincent was dedicated to his religious beliefs and his church. He was a founding member of Our Lady of Pompeii Knights of Columbus, a member of the parish council, a lector and a participant in other ministries at Our Lady of Pompeii. God saw the road was getting rough and the hills hard to climb, and said, "My peace be with you. No longer will you struggle, follow me home."
