A retired employee of Humble Oil Co. and a resident of Port Allen, he passed away at his home at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005. He was 92 and a native of Bunkie. Visiting at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly, on Friday, April 15, from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Monsignor Robert Berggreen. Entombment in the church mausoleum. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Ducote Barbe of Port Allen; a daughter, Anita B. Peterson of Port Allen; a son and daughter-in-law, Marshall "Buddy" and Shirley Barbe of Port Allen; a sister, Louise B. Brouillette of Hammond; a brother, Prosper Barbe of Bunkie; three grandchildren, Tammy Barbe of Bonita Springs, Fla., Greg Barbe and wife Kristy of Slaughter and Beth Peterson of Port Allen; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Blake Barbe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Mercedes Neck Barbe; and six siblings. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Sister Emma Noel's ministries.
