A native of Hammond, she was retired from Higgins Shipyard where she was employed as a "Rosie the Riverter," helping to assemble the P-T Boats. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ponchatoula, as well as Golden Agers and AARP. She is survived by one daughter, Lee Hart Allen of Ponchatoula; three sisters, Irma Hart, Dot Martens and May Posey, all of Hammond; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Barhanovich; her parents, George and Ida "Nan" Starkey; two daughters, Trilby Kincaid and Gaynell Tucker; an infant grandchild and one great-grandchild; and one sister, Edith Chavers. The Rev. Jake Roudkowski conducted the funeral. Burial was at Allens Whispering Pines Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
