He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force who served his country honorably from Saturday, Nov. 10, 1951, until Friday, March 31, 1961, reaching the rank of major. During his service, he was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, AF Reserve Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award.
