Samuel Aubrey "Sonny" Barnhart Jr. died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, He was 70. A native of Kenner, he was a former resident of New Orleans and Waggaman. He was retired from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict. Survivors include one daughter, Linda French of Tampa, Fla., three sons, Kenneth Charles Barnhart of Harvey, Kevin Michael Barnhart of Ponchatoula and Samuel Aubrey Barnhart III of Hammond; five brothers, one sister and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Barnhart Foret; his parents, Gladys Mae Childs Barnhart Giovingo and Samuel Aubrey Barnhart Sr.; and one brother.
