A resident of Ponchatoula, he died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 60 and a native of Madisonville. Visiting was at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. Tuesday until religious services at 10 a.m., conducted by a Dominican priest. Interment in Mixon Cemetery, Tangipahoa. Survived by his wife, Pat. St. Romain Bartholomew of Ponchatoula; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole and Anthony Carpenter of Hammond and Chantel and James Griffith of Watson; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jeff Bartholomew of Hammond, Larry and Brenda Herring of Covington and Rick and Lisa Kramer of Alabama; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and A.D. Trest of Denham Springs, Beverly and Jack Wascom and Brenda and Anthony Dorsa, all of Brusly, and Judy and Ronnie Wingate of Denham Springs; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald "CG" and Darleen Johnson of Baton Rouge; and seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Dylan, Seth, Lynen, Charlie, Sarah and Roman. Preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Bartholomew; and mother, Myrtle Ricks Garon. Pallbearers will be Gerald Johnson, O'Neal Walsh, Selby Lockhart, Wayne Webb, Bond Riggins, Bob St. Romain and Larry Herring. He was retired from Dow Chemical and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ponchatoula Lion's Club, 750 E.
