She was a native of Albany and a resident of Trinity Towers in Midland. She served as director of Christian education at churches in Staunton, Va., and Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Presbytery College in Montreat, N.C., and received her bachelor's degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and her master's degree as director of Christian education from Richmond, Va. Survivors include one sister, Goldie Bartus Hudson of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Eugene George Bartus of Midland and Louis Charles Bartus of Albany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Goldie Szekely Bartus; two brothers, Alex Charles Bartus and Joseph Ernest Bartus Sr. A memorial service will be Saturday at Albany Hungarian Presbyterian Church, Hungarian Settlement, at 3 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Stephen Sanders and the Rev. James Anderson. Her ashes will be interred in the Hungarian Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Albany. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Albany Hungarian Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 119, Albany, LA 70711.
