Carl David Bassemier Sr., 63, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2005, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New Orleans. He was a native of Pumpkin Center and a resident of Hammond. Mr. Bassemier was retired from the U.S. Army. He is survived by a son, Carl David Bassemier Jr., of Custer, S.D.; and three sisters, Opal B. Bankston, Pumpkin Center, Hilda B. Alexander, Dayton, Texas, and Edith B. Beall, Zachary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Zelma (Bowman) Bassemier; four brothers, Floyd, Ralph, Cotton and Bert Bassemier; and a sister, Dorothy Adams.
