He was the beloved husband of Diane Ducasse Batusic, the brother of Richard Batusic of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and the father of Mike and Alan. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived most of his childhood in Charleston, West Virginia. He had an active, successful career as a Design Supervisor for Union Carbide in Taft, LA for 45 years. After retirement, he and Diane moved to Hammond, LA, where they have lived for the past 9 years. Bob (as he was called) loved doing woodwork and spent many happy hours in his personal workshop. He also liked fishing and skillful maintenance of his yard and particularly enjoyed the art of having a perfectly -mowed lawn. As a couple, Bob and Diane liked ballroom dancing and enjoyed many of these delightful events all the way from the Gulf Coast to Baton Rouge. Bob was a perfect, gracious gentleman and all those with whom he came in contact were immediately impressed with his courtesy, kindness, gentleness and depth of character. Diane says that although she will miss him very much, she is comforted with the precious memories of their 18 happy years together. His body has been donated to the LSU Medical School and a memorial service will be scheduled later at the First Presbyterian Church in Hammond, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vital Hospice, 19184 Doctor John Lambert Drive, Suite 101, Hammond, LA 70401. *************************************************************************** File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/tangipahoa/obits/obitssur/batusic.txt
