J.C. Baudin, 85, and a resident of Bordelonville, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Avoyelles Hospital. Visitation at St. Peter's Catholic Church Hall, Bordelonville, on Sunday, Feb. 8, was from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church hall on Monday from 9 a.m. until funeral Mass in the church at 11 a.m., with Monsignor Steve Testa, celebrant. Entombment in church mausoleum. Survived by a son, Jerry Baudin, Baton Rouge; stepson, Neil Bordelon Sr., Marrero; two daughters, Peggy Baudin Barrere and Judy Baudin Laborde, both of Baton Rouge; half-brother, Earl Baudin, Ponchatoula; half-sister, Juanita Bordelon, Bordelonville; half-brother, Clinton J. Baudin Jr., Bordelonville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Baudin; grandson, Todd Laborde; father, Clinton Joseph Baudin Sr.; mother, Margaret Mayeux; and two sisters, Elga Rideau and Mabel Rougeau. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. She was 91, born Nov. 1, 1920, in East Baton Rouge Parish. She was a native of Central and resided in Spring Creek for 28 years. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann Baudin Burke and Robert; a son and daughter-in-law, John Val Baudin and Midori; two grandsons, Joe Baudin and Lucas Burke; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Barzie Fletcher, San Angelo, Texas, Bobbie and Pete Neyland, and Laura and Whitey Waters, all of Central; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Bennett and Mildred Bennett, both of Central; and a brother-in-law, M.C. Martin, of Central. She was predeceased by her husband, J.H. Baudin; parents, Bob and Maggie Browning Bennett; two brothers, Levi Bennett and Boyd Bennett; and three sisters, Annie Martin, Flarrie Baudin, and Inez Ward and husband Ted. Services at McKneely Funeral Home in Kentwood on Monday, Jan. 30, with visitation from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. Danny Smith.
