Opal was born Sept. 30, 1930, to Wise White and Zora Compton White in Hammond. She married Gene Bauerle on Dec. 24, 1948. Opal was a member at Southside Baptist Church in Denham Springs. Her family has resided in Hammond, Bogalusa, Houma and most recently in Baton Rouge where she lived for the last 32 years. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Feb. 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. James Hollingsworth. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
