He was a native of Greensburg and resident of Amite. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Beans of Amite; a daughter, Mary Beans of San Antonio; a son, Emmit Beans of Amite; 22 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren. The funeral will be at McMichael AME Church tonight at 7 p.m. with a dismissal service Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Butler's Cemetery in Amite. Arrangements are with N.A. Battist Beans, 96, resident of Amite, La. passed away Saturday March 16, 2013 at her residence. She was a supervisor of the Amite Senior Citizen Home. She is survived by her daughter Mary Beans of Roseland, La., 26 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 94 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude Beans, Sr.; sons Claude Beans, Jr. and Emmitt Bean Sr.; daughter Dorothy M. Tillis; father Lawrence Battist and mother Lorena McCoy; five brothers; two sisters; great- granddaughter Cassandra Tillis and great-great grandson Jamel Watson. Visitations will be held Friday March 22, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at N.A. James Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Saturday March 23, 2013, 11 a.m. at McMichael AME Church in Amite, La. Interment will follow at Butler Cemetery Amite, La. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the McMichael AME Church-Hazel Beans Missionary Society Board Scholorship Foundation. N.A.
