James Clarence Beck, a piping designer and resident of Denham Springs, died at 3:48 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at his home. He was 59 and a native of North Carolina. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War from 1968-69, serving in the 312th EVAC Division. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 10. Visiting at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Leon Dunn. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Wagner Beck, Denham Springs; daughter, Marcia Leigh Beck McManus, Central; son, Mark Anthony Beck, Walker; sister, June Drake Beck, Winston Salem, N.C.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, David Walter and Glenda Beck, Newport, N.C., and Roger Houston Beck, Clemmons, N.C.; three grandchildren, Austin James and Bronson Grant Beck and Jacob Wayne McManus; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Efird and Alice Kathleen Walsh Beck. Pallbearers will be Mark Anthony, David and Roger Beck, Lee Tallent, Bill Hancock and Trey Farr. Honorary pallbearers are Al Shipes and Frank Howard. He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond. Memorial donations may be made to Generations Hospice, 805 N.
