BEDINGER, JAMES EDWARD 
Tickfaw - James "Bear" Edward Bedinger, 66, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001,
at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was a native of Catlin, Ill., a
U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, a member of the Independence
American Legion Post and a financial consultant. He is survived by his
wife, Sara Gooch Bedinger of Tickfaw; five sons, James Harold and Timothy
Charles Bedinger, both of Taylorville, Ill., Dale Edward Bedinger of
Springfield, Ill., James A. McAlpin of Metairie and William David McAlpin
of Jackson, Miss.; three daughters, Debra Kaye Walker of Tickfaw, Jana Anne
Dickerson of Sydney, Austrailia, Charlene Rene Chambliss of Huntsville,
Ala.; one sister, Betty Lou Schotters of Deerfield, Ill.; five brothers,
Douglas Bedinger of Colona, Ill., Daniel Bedinger of Ft. Worth, Texas,
David Bedinger of Austin, Texas, Charles and Danny Joe Bedinger, both of
Chester, Ill.; 14 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Harold Douglas and Mildred
Sigmon Bedinger; and one sister, Jeanne Stewart. Visitation will be Friday
at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 10:30 a.m. until the
funeral at 1 p.m.
