Santo Pete Bentivegna, Sr., 73, of Hammond, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at his residence. He was born on March 29, 1934 in Tickfaw, son of the late Luke and Lena Rotolo Bentivegna. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, automobile salesman, manager, sales trainer, published author, avid reader, and commentator for the local newspaper. A gentleman who loved sharing his life's stories. Surviving are his fiancée, Ruth Elizabeth Bond; son and daughter-in-law, Santo Pete and Pam Willie Bentivegna, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Kimx Bentivegna Basso and Allen Basso; 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Madison, Santo Pete Bentivegna, III, Barrett, Blake, and Aaron Basso; sister, Nora Bentivegna Lumino; brothers, Peter and Carlo Bentivegna; also by Rebecca Bond, Elizabeth Vineyard, Autleigh Vineyard, and Nicki. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carlo Bentivegna. Friends will were received Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond from 6 pm til 10 pm, and after 8 am on Friday until 9:45 am.
