BEREGI, JOSEPH STEPHEN 

ALBANY - Joseph Stephen Beregi, 89, died Monday, April 15, 2002, in McComb, 
Miss. He is survived by one daughter, Betty Foy of Osyka, Miss.; two sisters, Ethel 
Beregi Erdy of Livingston and Annie Beregi Kinchen of Baton Rouge; one brother, 
E.C. "Jimmy" Beregi of Livingston; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Dee Thompson Beregi; one son, Joseph 
Beregi Jr.; his parents, Joseph Beregi and Elizabeth Kopcso Beregi; a stepmother, 
Marie M. Beregi; three sisters, Rose Beregi Bedo, Elizabeth Beregi Megyesi and 
Margaret Beregi Kozan Boutte; and one granddaughter. Visitation will be today 
from 5 to 9 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, and Wednesday 
from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Albany Presbyterian Hungarian 
Church Cemetery.
