BERTRAND, L. CAROL THOMPSON 

L. Carol Thompson Bertrand, 45, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at St. Tammany 
Parish Hospital in Covington. 
She was a native of Hawaii, a registered dietitian with St. Tammany Parish Hospital 
and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hammond. 
She is survived by her husband, David William Bertrand; and two children, Emily 
Bertrand and Mathew Bertrand, all of Hammond; her mother, Winifred Thompson of 
Oklahoma; one sister, Cecelia Thompson Brown of Amite; and five brothers, Edward 
Lee Thompson of New Mexico, Robin Laurance Thompson of Tallahassee, Fla., Clark 
Lewis Thompson of Mexico, Jean Carter Thompson of Kailua, Hawaii, and Charles 
Maracus Christopher Thompson of Stillwater, Okla. 
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Thompson. 
Visitation will be Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Hammond, from 2 p.m. until 
the funeral at 5. Ed Carver and the Rev. Louis Ogle will conduct the service. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. 
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, is in charge.
