John Burkette, 55, of McComb, Miss. died instantly. Paul Bickford, 29, of Hillsdale community, five miles west of Amite, died 11:10 p.m. at the McComb Infirmary in McComb, Miss., and the third, a negro, H. Seal, was seriously injured. The men were riding north searching for a break in the telephone lines when the freight, going north, crashed into them.
