He was a loving husband, Daddy and Pappy who passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Highland Community Hospital in Picayune. The Rev. Stan Davis will officiate the service. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Poplarville. A native of Fairhope, Ala., he was born July 29, 1928. He was a retired control room operator for Kaiser Aluminum, a member and inactive deacon of Derby Baptist Church and held membership in Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5852 in Lutcher. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Bishop; and a brother, Willie Bishop. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lois Bishop, of Derby; two daughters, Cynthia Fitch and her husband, Jimmy, of Houma, and Teresa Petrey and her husband, Wayne, of Lutcher; two brothers, Ed Johnson, of Fairhope, and Ernest Johnson, of Los Angeles; a sister, Alice Faye Straum, of Fairhope; four granddaughters, Rebecca Segura and her husband, Craig, of Houma, Jennifer Michaels and her husband, Alex, of Hammond, Amber Petrey, of Lutcher, and Sarah Petrey, of Hammond; and expecting one great-grandson, to be named Michael Arthur Segura. Visitation was Thursday, April 17, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at White Funeral Home, Poplarville. She was a member of Tickfaw Baptist Church and a retiree from the federal government, having worked for 25 years for the Pentagon as a computer programmer. She is survived by three sisters, Rachel Cadoret and husband Archie, Betty Jean Willoughby and Louise Anthony; 2 nieces, Lori Willoughby and Debie Willoughby; 4 nephews and their spouses, Donald and Rebecca-Bankston Willoughby, Mark and Eileen-Martinez Willoughby, Dale and Wendy-Hast Anthony, and Justin and Amber-Leblanc Anthony. "BOB" Charles Robert "Bob" Bishop Jr., 78, of Deer Park, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005. He served in World War II for the U.S. Navy amphibious assault force and in the Army National Guard. He was a friend and involved in numerous activities with Bill W. He was born in Hammond and moved to Texas in 1952. He retired from Shell Oil Refinery Docks, Deer Park, after 36 years. His wife, Iris N. Bishop; parents, Charles R. Sr. and Marjorie J. Bishop; and sisters, Margaret Allen Capps and Carolyn Jane Bishop, preceded him in death. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Charles R. III "Bobby" and Pam Bishop, Elkhart, Texas, and Richard and Georgiana Bishop and Tana and Doug Haass, all of Deer Park. Many who knew him -- including his seven grandchildren, Shane, Chris, Jerod and Jason Bishop, Jana Baker, Kayla Butland and Brock Haass -- knew him as "Pa." Great-grandchildren are Shian, Riley and Katelynn Bishop. His in-laws, Irma Lee and Melvin Booth, Charlene Redmond, Erlo and Aline Neal and Gayle and Cindy Neal, all of Louisiana, survive him. MORGAN J. Morgan Bishop, 46, died Saturday in Oschsner's Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. Funeral services were held Sunday in Hammond. Interment was in Greenlawn cemetery; the Thomas Funeral Home was in charge of burial. He was a native of Walnut Grove, Miss.; came to Hammond in 1937 from Jackson, Miss. He served as manager of the Penney store from 1937 to 1947. He went to work for Sears and was transferred to Greenville, S.C. About one month ago he resigned because of ill health and returned to Hammond and his family.
