BISTANY, ALFRED JOHN 
Pine Grove - Alfred John Bistany, 76, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at St. 
Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. A native of Lawrence, Mass., he was a U.S. 
Navy veteran of World War II and also served in the U.S. Army the U.S. Air Force. 
He was a graduate of Baylor University Law School and practiced law in Texas. He 
was a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. Survivors include his wife, Ferne 
McNabb Bistany of Pine Grove; his daughter, Lori Kim Lea of Baton Rouge; his son, 
Maj. Lester Roan Lea of Spokane, Wash.; and three grandchildren. His parents, 
Saide and Jenny Bistany, preceded him in death. Visitation will be at McKneely 
Funeral Home, Amite, tonight from 6 until 9 and Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church, 
Pine Grove, from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 10:30 a.m. The service will be 
conducted by the Rev. Joe Wilson, the Rev. Alvin Hall and the Rev. Darwin Hall, 
and burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Pine Grove.
