SCHREIBER Services for Mrs. Joseph M. Blache, Sr., 70, who died Saturday at her home , were held Sunday from the Thomas Funeral Home. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery. Before her marriage to Mr. Blache on April 6, 1900, she was the former Miss Ida L. Schreiber of New Orleans; they moved to Hammond in 1906. Mr. Blache preceded her in death several years ago. She is survived by one son, Joseph M. Blache, Jr. of Hammond; and one daughter, Mrs. B. Newcomb Stevens of Tiskilwa, Illinois. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Vindicator: 4/15/1949 BLACHE, JOSEPH M. Joseph M. Blache, 75, died at his home in Hammond Thursday. He was a native of New Orleans; son of the late Gustave and Pauline Lafargus Blache. His grandfather served as secretary of state during the administration of Governor White. He married April 6, 1900, Miss Ida J. Schriener, who survives. Two children were born to this union, Judge Joseph M. Blache, Jr. city attorney of Hammond, and Mrs. B. Newcomb Stevens of Liskilwa, Ill. Also survived by one granddaughter, Joella Blache. Funeral services will be Friday at Thomas Funeral Home. Religious rites will be at Holy Ghost Catholic church. Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery. ***************************************************************************
