Daisy G. Blair died at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Ochsner Summit Hospital in Baton Rouge. She was 100, a native of Amite and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, on Saturday, May 5, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Foster. Interment in Amite Cemetery, Amite. She is survived by a brother, Dudley Gill, Columbia, S.C.; nephew, Jerry Gill and wife Barbara, Amite; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was born on Friday, October 31, 1924, in Washington D.C., son of the late William and the late Hazel Blair Bachschmid. A native of Washington, D.C. William served in World War II and graduated from the University of Maryland. He also went on to graduate from Cortauld Institute of the University of London and in 1955 started William Blair Ltd. Surviving are his wife, Katherine Wasson Blair and 2 daughters, Ann B. Gouirand, Beth Boreggo; stepson, Cullen Sellers; stepdaughter, Katie Rogelstad; 6 grandchildren, Mireille Gouirand, Juliette G.
