She was born on Nov. 29, 1921, in Ponchatoula. She was the daughter of the late Emiel Berner and Ethel Bartholomew Berner. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Blaise Couvillion of Hammond and Rose Ann Blaise Husser of Killian and two sons-in-law Vic Couvillion of Hammond and Huey Husser of Killian, one brother, Anthony ³Tony² Berner, Sr. of Ponchatoula, two sisters-in-law, Ruth Berner and Margaret Berner, both of Ponchatoula, nephews Anthony ³Mutty² Berner, Jr., Michael Berner and Harold Berner, all of Ponchatoula, a great-niece, and two great-nephews and 2 great-great nephews and 2 great-great nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Emiel Berner, Jr., and Edwin James "Buddy" Berner of Ponchatoula and a sister-in-law Viola Berner. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18. Funeral services will follow with burial in Ponchatoula Cemetery. She was a longtime employee of A & P Supermarket in Ponchatoula and Pon Food of Ponchatoula. She was a devoted mother, sister and aunt and was beloved by her family and many friends. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hammond Senior Citizen Center, Tangipahoa Voluntary Council on Aging.
