Mr. Martin Cayetano Blanco Sr., 82, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. Friends of the family are invited to attend the homegoing celebration at Galilee Baptist Church, 1528 Louisa St., New Orleans, on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. David C. Blount Sr., pastor of Mount Kingdom Baptist Church, Tickfaw. Visitation at the church from 9 a.m. until the service. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Honore Blanco; and parents, Catharino Sanchez and Victoria Laquama Simeon Blanco. He leaves to cherish his most precious memory his two children, Elodia M. Blanco and her companion, Theophus Billings, and Martin C. Blanco Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Deborah C. Blanco; seven grandchildren, Winslow Thornton Jr., Michael Martin, Cayetano Thornton, Melika Thornton, Elodia Blanco, Keshia Hickerson and Martin Blanco III; 12 great-grandchildren; and a close cousin, Frank Blanco. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, LA BLANCO, PATRICIA GRAY Age 71, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, October 28, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family. Patricia was a longtime resident of Harahan and a current resident of Amite. She was retired from the Harahan Police Department where she served as a Police Officer and later in the Records Department. Patricia was a graduate of the Louisiana Master GardenerŐs Program, where she took great joy and pride in caring for her beautiful garden. Patricia is survived by her husband, Henry J. Blanco; daughter, Lori Shields Knotts; sons, John Calvin Gray (JoAnn), Edwin Leonard Gray (Cynthia), Michael Anthony Shields, Christopher Paul Shields (Christine); step-daughter, Cynthia Blanco Leitell (Charlie); grand- children, Nicole Miller, Tara Knotts, David Shields, Lindsay White, Monica Shields, Christopher Shields, Jr., Gabriella Shields, Renee Leitell; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Gray Turnage of Silver City, NM, Betty Gray Vicknair; brother, Charles Gray and wife Dot; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
