He was born October 28, 1917 in Louisville, Kentucky, son of the late Michael and Rose Kienzle Blum. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II, and retired designer from Sears. Surviving are his wife Edna Ruth Steidtmann Blum and three daughters, Suszanne Galpin, Diane Bordelon, and Joanne McCormack; a son, Mark Blum; two sisters, Rosalia McPherson, Mary Margaret Hoscila; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Blum; granddaughter, Mena Michelle Blum; and two brothers John and Lawrence Blum. Friends were received Monday, November 27, 2006 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral home in Ponchatoula. Services were held from the Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Mike Vaughn. Interment followed in the Ponchatoula Cemetery. He was a sailor, who loved sailing the open waters. Lazard leaves behind his two daughters, Michelle Gallo, and Tracey Roley and husband Stewart, along with three grandchildren, Dylan Gallo, Sophia Gallo and Ian Roley. He is also survived by his former wives, Nauma Dozier and Terry Lynn Smith; brother, Gary Miller Blum; and nieces and nephews, Ali Blum, Dorothy Frances Cooper, Gary Miller Blum II, and Sherrill Garber.
