She was 79. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment in Hoffman Cemetery, Hammond. Survived by a son, Henry "Tommy" Boatman, Hammond; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Sweitzer Boatman, Hammond; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Henry L. Boatman; parents, James Thomas and Eva Frey Murphy; two brothers, Lucius E. and Robert S. Murphy; and five sisters, Velma Murphy Connell, Mae Murphy Desmond, Freida Murphy Carr, Lura Murphy Morgan and Matilda Murphy Morgan. She was a 1943 graduate of Hammond High School. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, LA BOATMAN, MAXINE SWITZER Age 76 and a longtime resident of Ponchatoula, Maxine passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was loving wife and Christian lady, who will be missed by all. Maxine leaves behind her husband, Tommy Boatman of Ponchatoula; sister-in-law, Bonnie Switzer of Lewistown, PA, along with two nieces, Donna Switzer Kinslow and Deborah Switzer Hannon both of Harrisburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxwell and Lenora Walk Switzer; brother, Donald Switzer all of Lewistown, PA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson, Ponchatoula on October 8, and 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on October 9, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Services will be conducted by Rev.
