Raised in Tangipahoa Parish, Lois left at the age of 16 for New Orleans, where she met her husband, John Emile Boesch. After 5 years and starting a family, they moved to Baton Rouge where she started her 25-year career with the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board Food System.
