She passed away February 16, 2008. She is preceded in death by husband, Harry Maurice Scarbrough, M.D.; daughter, Linda DePaula; parents, C. B. Smith and Mattie Smith; sister, Helen SmithWinger. Survived by daughters, Maureen Scarbrough Franz and Susan Scarbrough Read; grand- children, LaMarr DePaula, Carlton Houtz, M.D., Natalie Franz, Lisa Read Rivers, Mary Beth Read and Christopher Read; brothers, C.B. Smith, Jr. and Bill Smith. Miss Dottie was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula where she been an active member of the United Methodist Women and where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Tangipahoa Parish Medical Auxiliary. Miss Dottie had sold real-estate in the local area for twenty-five years and was a life time member of the Million Dollar Club.
