BORDEN, LIONEL, JR. "DUFFY" 
Former owner of the Ford automobile dealership in Hammond and a resident of
Hammond, he died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in Venice. He was 77 and a native of
Bogalusa. He was a U.S. Navy Air Corps veteran of World War II. Visitation
at First Presbyterian Church of Hammond, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from
8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment in Rose
Memorial Cemetery. Survived by two daughters, Beth Ann Borden, Dallas, and
Donna Gay Borden Anderson, Hammond; and five sisters, Barbara Hayden,
Bogalusa, Anne Bryant, Hammond, Doris McElveen, Bogalusa, Margaret
Baumkirschner, Hereford, Ariz., and Jill McDaniel, Baker. Preceded in death
by his wife, Vonnie Haisty Borden; and parents, Lionel and Eldora Bennett
Borden. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hammond and Sigma
Tau Gamma fraternity. Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian
Church of Hammond, 103 N. Pine St., Hammond, LA 70401 or a favorite
charity.
