He was a native of Bogalusa and a resident of Ponchatoula for 40 years. He was born Monday, December 16, 1918, in Bogalusa, son of the late James August and Nancy Boyet. Mr. Boyet was a beloved husband and devoted father. He was a past member of the Ponchatoula Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a Boy Scout Master and a member of the Word of Life Christian Center in Darrow, LA. He spent a lot of time donating electrical services to local churches & municipalities including, the Country Market, Ponchatoula City Hall, & Westside Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Dixie Day Boyet and two daughters, Sue Boyet, Nancy Hoover; two sons, Robert Boyet, Craig Boyet; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, John H., Sam & Howard Boyet. Friends were received Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A Memorial Service was held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingdom Life Church of Loranger.
