"JOHNNY" Assistant executive director and director of publications of the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, he died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 41, a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Randy Toms of Westminster Church. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Terri Leonard Braithwaite; father and mother, John E. Sr. and Katherine Devall Braithwaite; and a daughter, Heather Elizabeth Braithwaite. Pallbearers will be Mike Murphy, Mike Wingard, Dr. Neils Linschoten, Randy Borill, Daryl Brister, Kent Bernhardt, Tony Romonach, Stephel Alello and Tommy Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John Warren, Dr. George Robertson, Dr. Ben Thompson and Dr. William Hines. He was a charter member and elder of Westminster Church. He received a master's of journalism degree at LSU in 1980 and was a member of the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa.
