He was 79 and a native of New Orleans. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at All Saints Episcopal Church, Ponchatoula, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Religious services at the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Terrell Griffis. Interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery. Survived by wife of 57 years, Iris Burns Brann, Ponchatoula; a daughter, Iris Marie Brann Fetta, Clemson, S.C.; two sons, Charles H. Brann Jr., Denver, and Frank Duncan Brann, Hammond; seven grandchildren, and a sister, Dorothy B. Cornell, Gulfport, Miss. Preceded in death by parents, Charles P. and Eva M. He was born on Tuesday, February 13, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana, son of the late Charles Harry Brann Sr. and the late Iris Burns Brann. Surviving are his wife, Martha Denise Brann; son, Jared Brann; daughter, Alyson Brann; sister, Iris Brann Reed of Pendleton, SC; brother, Charles Harry Brann Jr. of Bay St. Louis, MS; grandson, Ashford Bertolino and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, September 23, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond and on Thursday September 24, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Ponchatoula. Services will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, Thursday, September 24, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Gervis Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Wetmore Cemetery. She was a former educator at Ponchatoula High School, a former assistant registrar at Southeastern Louisiana University and an originator of the Ponchatoula Wavettes.
