Gonzales - Charles "Black" Breaux Sr., 64, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital, New Orleans. A native of Gonzales, he was a retired operations supervisor with Shell T-Bone and owned Leader's Fried Chicken, Gonzales. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Causey Breaux, and mother, Hattie Henry Breaux, both of Gonzales; two daughters, Wendy LeBlanc and Melanie Decoteaux, Prairieville; six sons, Charles "Chuck"Jr. , Todd, Roby, Joey and Bart Beaux Jr., all of Gonzales, Ricky Breaux, St. Amant; a sister, Agnes Schexnayder, Gonzales; three brothers, Alvin A.J. Breaux Jr., Gonzales, James "Punkin" Breaux, French Settlement, Tom Breaux, Anchorage, Alaska; and 16 grandchildren. His father, Alvin "Hebou" Breaux Sr., preceded him in death. The Rev. Phil Spano conducted the funeral this afternoon at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales. Burial was in the church cemetery.
