He was an Eagle Scout and graduate of Hammond High School. After spending time at both Southeastern Louisiana University and the Hammond, LA Technical College gaining credits in nursing, Jared served in the Navy as a Corpsman/Marine Corps Field Medic. He was currently employed with Gulf Offshore Logistics. Jared was the beloved husband of Hollie Emfinger Brewton. Together they have two beautiful daughters, Blair Anne and Taylor Jordan. He was one of five children born to Lt. Col. Robert Ray and Marcia Hirsch Brewton. Jared will forever be remembered by his devoted siblings Robert Scott Brewton, Heather Brewton Picou, Cheryl Brewton Brantley, and Matthew Eric Brewton. He is survived by his maternal grandmother Marie Nichols and caring in-laws Jane Chatelain, Henry and Nadia Emfinger, Anne Chatelain, Todd and Bridget Acosta, Michael Picou, and Tom Brantley. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Tristian and Amanda Picou, Catherine and Alex Brewton, and Ian Acosta along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Jared had many passions in his life. Among them was international travel, a love of the outdoors, hunting, listening to a wide variety of music and having fun with a multitude of friends. Many lives were touched through his constant smile, charisma and unique sense of humor. Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Harry McKneely & Son, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, LA 70404, with the memorial service immediately following. Interment will be in Rose Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for his children.
