As a young woman, she worked in a munitions plant during World War II and later as an assistant to the dietitian at Touro Infirmary. After raising her family, she was active in BR-COA. She worked many years as hostess for McDonald's of Baton Rouge and most recently as a greeter at Wal-Mart.
