Death claimed Mrs. Carolyn P. Broussard, 66, on December 29th at the hospital in Independence. With her husband she had resided in Hammond for the past four months. Funeral services were held at Grace Episcopal church. The remains were interred in Greenlawn cemetery; with Poole Funeral Home in charge. Surviving are her husband and one son, living in Anniston, Ala. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 3/9/2008 BROUSSARD, DONALD JAMES "JIM" Jim Broussard was born on Oct. 3, 1936, in Lafayette and passed away at the age of 71 on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at his home in Ponchatoula. He was a loving husband to his surviving wife, Susan Bradford Broussard, of Ponchatoula, beloved father of Tina Kanak, of Texas, Tony Pavlo, Sonja Schurr and Suzanne Pavlo, all of Maryland, Brigitte W. Bordes, of Ponchatoula, and James Broussard and a loving Paw-Paw to eight grand- children. He is also survived by his mother, Elaine M. Broussard, of Lafayette; five sisters, Patricia Jones, Ellen Simon, Mary Virginia Broussard and Cheryle Burnam, all of Lafayette, and Suzanne Broussard-Armstrong, of Arizona and was a loving uncle to 11 nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon J. Broussard, who was of Lafayette. He was a proud employee of Gerry Lane Chevrolet in Baton Rouge for more than 33 years, where he had many dear friends. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
