James Hubert Brown Jr. died at 10:17 a.m. Sunday, March 19, 2006, at his home in Kentwood. He was 55 and a native of McComb, Miss. Knew Death Was Near - Mrs. Brown, who was stricken with the incurable malady in 1954 authored an article for "Our Sunday Visitor (reprinted in Jan. 14th, 1955 issue of the News-Digest) related that she knew that the end was near and had learned to think of her illness as a blessing of God. Few have ever faced certain death so squarely and fearlessly as did she. Besides her husband she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James W.
