She was 82, a native of Ponchatoula, and a 50-year resident of Slidell. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Sunday, from noon until religious service at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Louis Husser. Interment in Davies Family Cemetery, Ponchatoula. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Stephen Odis Bryan and Kathy McCormick Bryan, Kentwood; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Bryan Kahl and Alfred L. Kahl, Horn Lake, Miss., and Becky Bryan Joiner and Ronald Leslie Joiner Sr., Loranger; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Leslie Davies Lauderback, Pleasonton, Calif., and Marie Davies Morrison, Seattle. Preceded in death by her husband, Odis Oscar Bryan; a grandson, Robert Edward Lee III; a great-grandson, Jacob Alexander Knowles; two brothers, Benjamin J. Davies and Morgan Rudolph Davies Jr.; a sister, Ursula Davies Gaude; and parents, Morgan Rudolph Davies Sr. and Ursula Parker Davies. She was a member of Crossgate Baptist Church, Robert, and a former longtime member of First Baptist Church of Slidell, where she helped to implement the food pantry ministry. He was 84 and a native of Spearsville. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 9 a.m. Monday until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Louis Husser. Interment in Davies Family Cemetery, Ponchatoula. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine Davies Bryan, Hammond; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Stephen and Kathy McCormick Bryan, Kentwood; daughters and sons-in-law, Alfred L. and Cathy Kahl, Horn Lake, Miss., and Ronald L. and Becky Joiner, Loranger; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Bryan Neal and Marcel Bryan Hollis, both of Spearsville. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Edmund and Frances Burnside Bryan; a grandson, Robert Edward Lee II; a great-grandson, Jacob Alexander Knowles; and four brothers, Gurther, Gleen, Gordon and Etheridge Bryan. He was the Future Farmers of America Chapter adviser when the first FFA gold-medal chapter award was given in Louisiana. The chapter was a recipient for five more years. He was a former agriculture teacher at Slidell High School and a former principal at Slidell Junior High School and Florida Avenue Elementary School. He retired as assistant superintendent of schools in St. Tammany Parish, having been employed with the school system for 41 years. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Slidell, Lions Club member, member and past master of a Masonic lodge in Slidell, member of Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and a graduate of LSU and Tulane University. She was 91 and a native of St. Helena Parish. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 10:30 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Blake Shipp. Interment in Woodland Cemetery. Survived by two daughters, Leona Franks, Garland, Texas, and Gwyndolyn Alford, Baton Rouge; a sister, Vivian Hutchinson, Denham Springs; a brother, Glen Allen, Amite; five grand- children, Gary Alford, Baton Rouge, Brenda Mulroy, Covington, Shirley Costley, Newman, Ga., Doris Franks, Benton, Ky., and Kathy Flynt, Ennis, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
